I ❤️️ JK ROWLING: Vancouver billboard taken down after ONE complaint by trans activists
J. K. Rowling is the British author and screenwriter who has given us creative masterpieces like the Harry Potter series.
As well, she's the founder of Lumos, a charity for helping families get the resources they need, so they have more opportunities in life including the ability to raise their own children, rather than having an orphanage do so.
It’s no surprise then that people love J. K. Rowling, right?
Not so fast!
You see, J. K. Rowling has been speaking out on behalf of women and children in a way that is not deemed socially acceptable by the far left, nor the mainstream media.
This has earned J. K. Rowling the trigger label of “TERF” meaning a “Trans-exclusionary radical feminist.”
Vancouver Billboard Praises Rowling
And it’s also earned signs that profess love for Rowling to be labeled as symbols of hate.
This past weekend, a huge “I ❤️️ JK Rowling” billboard sign was erected near the busy intersection on Hastings and Glenn Drive, in Vancouver, British Columbia.
I emphasize was, because as fast as a social justice warrior can yell “that’s trans-phobic!” the sign was painted over and replaced.
Chris Elston, and Amy Hamm, both from the Greater Vancouver Area, partnered to put the sign up on Friday Sept 10.
Both Elston and Hamm, and around ten other people including me, were present the next day when the sign was prematurely assigned to be replaced.
To give you a little background as to why on earth this billboard bugs anyone to their core, we can take a look at some of the public concerns Rowling has expressed regarding women and children.
J. K. Rowling Is Open With Her Opinion On Gender
In a paper written by Rowling titled “J.K. Rowling Writes about Her Reasons for Speaking out on Sex and Gender Issues,” she does exactly that, detailing five reasons why she speaks out against New Trans Activism.
Prior to the fifth reason, Rowling opens up about her first abusive marriage and then writes:
“I want trans women to be safe. At the same time, I do not want to make natal girls and women less safe. When you throw open the doors of bathrooms and changing rooms to any man who believes or feels he’s a woman – and, as I’ve said, gender confirmation certificates may now be granted without any need for surgery or hormones – then you open the door to any and all men who wish to come inside.”
You can also find Rowling expressing her concerns about female and child welfare on twitter where she claims she is receiving threats from “Twitter Trans activists”.
Social Media Mobs Attack, Target Billboard Company
This tweet from Rowling reads:
Many, myself included, believe we are watching a new kind of conversion therapy for young gay people, who are being set on a lifelong path of medicalisation that may result in the loss of their fertility and/or full sexual function. 5/11

And it’s not enough for her to just throw her opinion out there and expect people to think as she does: Rowling substantiates her opinion by linking to a BBC News video that discusses the contents of over 100 transcripts of interviews with staff members from England’s NHS child gender clinic.
You’ll find many who are grateful for J. K. Rowling's words, but of course, you’ll also find far left cancel mobsters like Vancouver City Councillor Sarah Kirby-Yung, who initially tweeted @pattisionoutdoor, the owners of the billboard, to condemn the sign, and later applauded her allies when the sign was covered up.
I too reached out Pattison Outdoor to get a better understanding of why the billboard sign was removed, and what guidelines were violated, and for now, have received no response.
