Anti-Communist protesters rally outside Chinese Consulate in Toronto
On October 1, more than 100 people assembled outside the Chinese Consulate in Toronto in protest of the Chinese Communist Party's regime. Demonstrators rallied to denounce the current Chinese government, its treatment of Tibet, Hong Kong, and the Uygher Muslims in Xinjiang.
Oh, and lest we forget, the hundreds of thousands who have died, and the trillions of dollars that have been lost, worldwide thanks to the Wuhan virus.
But while the public protests, what’s absolutely baffling is the treatment of China by various democratic states! Case in point: the day before the protest, the Ontario legislature was going to have a Chinese flag-raising event on the lawns of Queen’s Park to commemorate China’s National Day.
After an outcry, this event was cancelled at the last minute. But how did such an outrageous idea ever get approved in the first place — especially given that Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor have been illegally incarcerated and tortured in China for more than 660 days (remember them, Premier Ford)?
Yet, apparently it was somehow more important to honour the Chinese regime than to denounce them as being a cabal of human rights violators. Incredible! And then of course there is Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who has previously stated that the basic dictatorship in China is something that he admires. Can you believe that?
In any event, thankfully there were many Chinese ex-pats at the Oct. 1 demonstration in Toronto that were brave enough to call out this odious regime for what it truly is.
Premier Ford, Prime Minister Trudeau... please take note!
