A family in North Caulfield has become enemy number one for the mainstream media.
After a video surfaced last week of what appeared to be an "illegal" engagement party in the predominantly Jewish neighbourhood, the scolds in the mainstream media have gone into overdrive to vilify the family and local Jewish community.
The sensationalised coverage has forced the family into hiding after facing an onslaught of death threats, fines, and condemnation from political and community leaders.
Even Dan Andrews chimed in on their "selfish choices" and mused on the possibility that it was a "super spreader" event.
To make things worse, some members of the media have even resorted to doorstepping the family's home like two-bit tabloid reporters.
When I went to investigate the media reaction, I saw several reporters waiting at the family residence for an opportunity to pounce so they could plaster their faces all over the evening news.
